We had a thunder storm that put us behind about 3 hours in starting the tournament here in Frankenmuth. I will get the results to you as I can.. The sun is out, and hopeful the Lord is ready to watch some good young fastball players in action.

The Munger, MI Bulldog Softball Club coached by Del Benson and Rob Collamer won the Under 23 ISC Developmental Men’s fastpitch tournament with a dramatic comeback in the championship game. Trailing 4-1 in the bottom of to the seventh to the Newmarket, ON Sting, Munger went to work. Josh Wheeler was out on a fantastic play by shortstop Stuart Boyd to start the inning. Rob Lewis singled. Trevor Johnson was safe on a fielder’s choice with Lewis being safe at second on the play. Dustin Collamer singled home Lewis. Chris Heinlen tripled home two runs tying the game at 4 runs apiece. Shea Bryant walked, then Tyler Kelly was intentionally walked to load the bases. Winning pitcher Luke Raymer hit a sacrifice fly to left field scoring Heinlein for the winning run and the championship for Munger.
Winning pitcher Raymer allowed 4 hits and after opening the game with two walks, did not walk another batter, and struck out nine Newmarket batters. Collamer was 3 for 4 and Heinlein 2 for 4 and two RBI’s and a run.

Scarborough, ON lost their opening game in the tournament to Newmarket, ON 3-2. They won two games on Saturday, defeating Tavistock, ON 8-3, and Munger, MI 4-3. Sunday morning they continued their journey all the way back as they played all day. Along the way, they defeated Oxford, ON 3-2, Sebringville, ON 16-2, Glencoe, ON 4-1, Newmarket 3-1, Straffordville, ON 24-4 in 3 innings, and Straffordville again, 8-3 to win the ISC Under 19 Championship for 2009. They reeled off 8 straight wins following their opening game loss.
